Welcome to Coastal Plains Environmental Group.    We are an established company specializing in the maintenance of alternative onsite sewage disposal systems.  Due to the number of systems that have been placed under contract with my firm, we are currently not accepting any new clients for soils consultation or design work.  Coastal Plains Environmental Group is now solely devoted to the maintenance of Alternative Treatment Systems.

Our company is certified to maintain conventional wastewater treatment systems, and a number of different alternative treatment systems for single family residential and small business.  Some of the alternative treatment systems that we maintain include the Waterloo Biofilter, Puraflo Treatment System, certain types of Aerobic Treatment Units, and AdvanTex.  We are currently working on a project to rehabilitate a number of older sand filters, and high rate sand filters that have been neglected for a number of years.

We specialize in the management, operation and maintenance of small alternative treatment systems with sewage flows of less than 3,000 gallons per day, predominately, single family residential systems.  We generally offer a five year service agreement that exceeds the manufacturer's warranties, for a fixed rate.  We actively promote the requirement for credentialing and licensure for the service provider community, and our technicians are required to obtain a minimum of 24 continuing education units in subjects regarding onsite wastewater treatment.

Trapper Davis, owner and founder of Coastal Plains Environmental Group is a former regulator with the Virginia Department of Health.  He was recently elected to the Board of Directors for the National Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association (NOWRA), representing the service provider community, and will serve a three year term.  Mr. Davis also sits on the Board of Directors for the Virginia chapter of NOWRA (VOWRA), as well as several committees for the Commonwealth of Virginia and Maryland, including the steering committee for the new Virginia Onsite Training Center, located on Fort Pickett in Blackstone, Virginia.

K.R. "Trapper" Davis

I proudly served in the U.S. Military for 14 years before accepting a position with the Virginia Department of Health as an Environmental Health Specialist working out of the Newport News Health District, Williamsburg / James City County office. While employed by VDH, I served as part of the training cadre, instructing new environmental health specialists in the soil sciences and design of alternative onsite wastewater treatment systems.   In 2001, I left VDH and formed Coastal Plains Environmental Group, with the planned focus being the Management, Operation and Maintenance of small flow alternative onsite wastewater treatment systems.

I currently sit on the Board of Directors for the Virginia Onsite Wastewater Recycling Association, and have recently completed a three year term as an elected Board member to the National organization representing the service provider community.  I have participated in the technical review of the CIDWT National Training and credentialing program for onsite service providers, I sit on several state committees in both Virginia and Maryland, and was appointed by Governor Kaine to the DPOR Licensing Board representing the service provider community.
